The most iconic designer handbag in history is the Hermes Birkin bag, inspired by ’70’s beauty, English-French chanteuse Jane Birkin. The limited edition bags go for anywhere from $10k-200k. A British study recorded that the Birkin bag appreciates in value by 14.2% on average each year. This coveted fashion piece is on the aspirational list of every self-respecting fashionista.
However, I want to introduce you to some other designer bags for your wish list, cast in a different image. Each of the artists below created limited edition luxury bags inspired by their artistic practice and crafted in the image of their own ideal beauty.

For his 2020 Artycapucines interpretation, Taylor transposes his painting ‘A Young Master’, onto the handbag using both cutting-edge laser printing and traditional marquetry techniques. The work is a striking portrait of his close friend Noah Davis, the late American painter and installation artist and founder of the Underground Museum in LA.
